Cille was born in Denmark, but imported to Sweden when she was 18 months old. She became the third foundation bitch of Kennel Starmaids' in Vallingby, where she had two litters (1996 & 1999) and one in her second joint owner's home (1997). There she stayed until her mistress tragically passed away early in spring 2004.
In all she gave birth to 16 puppies with the Starmaids prefix and 8 with the name Blue-Hawaiis.
In the Swedish Kennel Club's data base there are 30 registered show results for Gold Line's Grumpy Mistress. She was never awarded anything less than a 1st prize and in 26 of 30 shows she got certificates and/or honorary prizes.

In the middle of June 2004 Cille moved to Katrineholm, with a considerate overweight but otherwise healthy, high-spirited and surprisingly well preserved for her age. We could clearly see what a handsome lady she was and fortunately she had kept her beautiful movements.
She was put on a strict diet, the extra kilos disapeared and everything looked promising. In August she was taken to a national Show i Norrkoping and awarded with a Honorary Prize and a BOS in veteran class.
However, at once we saw her we had noticed something peculiar. The pigment on her muzzle was fading away, which felt a bit distubing. During the summer she got skin problems, rather like that kind of eczema retrievers often suffer from, beacause of their enthusiasm over swimming. Our vet was consulted and prescibed a mild cream with cortison, which did not make much difference. A cure of antibiotics relieved her itch for a while, but during the autumn she got worse and new problems apperade. In December a biopsy was performed, informing us that Cille was suffering from skin cancer, mycosis fungoides, incurable and with a very pessimistic prognosis. "Expected survival approximately 4-6 months after diagnosis", the book said, and in Cille's case the diagnosis was late. The cancer had already spread to her inner organs, she was vomiting, got diarrhoea, flaring rash all over her body, extended loss of pigment, watering red and sore eyes and various minor aches and pain. She forgot all about house-training and started to seem a bit senile. Sometimes we got the feeling she was not fully aware of where she was and what she was doing. But yet she was a lively, merry and positive little dog. She never lost her good appetite nad her coat (where the rash had not made it fall off) was shiny, smooth and beautiful, almost without a grey hair.
It was not in any sense easy to decide it was better to put her to sleep, but we noticed her deterioration. She lost weight and got more and more tired. Of course we were praying for miracles but her cancer was already far too advanced.
She stayed with us for just a little more than seven months and - for better or for worse - we got to know a real little personality. Now that all is over, I think I am in my right maintain her life had a happy ending - a wonderful last summer with lots of outdoor activites, two attentive admirers whom she could reign on the strength of her age, an autumn with her new master, spoiled and fondled by his workmates, somebody who loved her, even when she was annoying. A homeless old dog without owner could end up far worse than she.
